SUMMARY
The DC Supervisor is responsible for assisting the DC Manager oversee the distribution and operational functions within the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other special projects and duties may be assigned.
- Oversee all distribution activities from receipt of goods to shipping
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements while coordinating with other areas of the organization
- Ensure that all company initiatives are being implemented and driven through continuous improvement
- Coordinates project management efforts as related to area of responsibility as necessary
- Ensures that orders are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations
- Order, replace, or repair machines and equipment essential for the operation
- Assists with maintenance related issues related to the building, while also coordinating with property management when necessary
- Responsible for personnel planning, development and management
- Responsible for adherence to all KPI’s related to distribution activities
- Coordinate implementation of process improvements
- Suggests possible improvements within the DC and coordinates these efforts with the DC Manager
- Promotes quality and ongoing improvement throughout the company
- Assists in resolving problems in all departments pertaining to procedures and company policy
- Reviews and takes action on internal audit reports associated with area of responsibility
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages employees in the Distribution Center. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
