Think that's cool? Keep reading : Job DescriptionDesigns components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and / or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.This D4 position will require advanced technical skills and the ability to function as the lead in this area. This individual will be expected to work / respond independently when needed. therefore will need to have the authority and associated responsibility that a D4 brings. It is imperative that that this D4 position be staffed appropriately to meet the needs and demands that it will bring.__PRESENTBasic QualificationsAssociate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 8 years of experience or a combination of education and 12 years experience in Design and shipbuilding.Preferred Qualifications 15 years experience or more in Design with strong office and design tool capabilities. Microsoft Office Proficient in using Ship Constructor and AutoCAD, Navis work and Bluebeam and check models or drawings for Hull Structure, Outfitting and Furnishing and Foundation..
