Job Summary
The Design Project Engineer will collaborate with multiple departments to develop and design machinery, equipment, and fixtures to improve our internal manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented individual with a strong ability to come up with unique solutions while keeping various factors and dependencies in mind.
Key Responsibilities
- Design equipment and machinery to increase throughput, improve safety, and quality of internal manufacturing operations using 3D modeling.
- Provide accurate and detailed information for manufacturing, assembly, and implementation of projects.
- Communicate with various departments to develop project plans and manage them accordingly.
- See projects through from initial concept generation to implementation.
- Work with outside companies to gather quotes and useful information required by projects.
- Be proactive, willing to learn, hands-on, and willing to be the liaison between real manufacturing parts and the design concept process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- SolidWorks preferred, working knowledge of AutoCAD is helpful. Alternative 3D design software may be considered depending on design package and experience levels.
- Experience in creating drawings from 3D models.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, machining, project management, automation, and materials.
