SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Energy Marshal to lead the lockout/tagout (LOTO) program on a large-scale data center construction project. This role is instrumental in ensuring that all energy isolation procedures are executed with precision, protecting our teams from hazardous energy exposure and upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- LOTO Program Oversight
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive lockout/tagout procedures for all energy types: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and more.
- Maintain a current and accurate LOTO log for all isolation activities.
- Site Safety & Compliance
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to verify full compliance with LOTO protocols by all subcontractors and workers.
- Confirm all tools, locks, tags, and safety equipment meet project and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with site supervision and field crews to safely isolate energy sources prior to work.
- Training & Communication
- Provide LOTO training and ongoing education for site personnel and trade partners.
- Act as the go-to resource for all LOTO-related inquiries, approvals, and emergency procedures.
- Incident Prevention & Response
- Investigate LOTO incidents or near-misses, generate detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the project safety team to integrate LOTO compliance into the broader safety culture.
Perform work in a safe manner and encourage others to do the same.
QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years of experience with LOTO procedures in construction or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 1910.147 and relevant safety codes.
- Prior experience on data center or mission-critical projects is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage technical documentation and enforce site-wide safety compliance.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence safety-first behavior.
- Preferred certifications: OSHA 30, formal LOTO training/certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Field-based role requiring full mobility on an active construction site.
- May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, or near energized equipment (once isolated).
- Flexibility for shift work or emergency response depending on project demands.
