SUMMARY
Russell is currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager in our Atlanta, GA office to manage a project team, project stakeholders, consultant(s), and contractors as necessary to support our client, the City of Atlanta Department of Aviation, in their multi-billion expansion program. This includes the administration and implementation of all phases of work related to project delivery, including pre-construction, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, contract development, shop drawing review, design coordination, construction & implementation, and contract closeout, ensuring that expectations and budgetary guidelines are met or exceeded. This will include planning, directing, managing, and providing oversight to ensure that the client’s goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed schedule and budget parameters. Effectively communicates with management, field staff, technical staff, contractors, and leadership. Provides internal and external coordination and collaboration with project partners and stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Project management (including planning, directing, monitoring, and controlling) of transit projects from concept through completion.
Execute project management on medium to large-size projects, including contract negotiation and managing scope, schedule, and budget.
Act as a technical expert on transit projects at all phases.
Manages project procurement and all construction activities necessary to execute capital projects.
Management of consultants, technical support staff, and contractors.
Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work efforts with the team to ensure that work is completed within the parameters of the agreed-to schedule.
Implements change management processes and carries out project communications throughout the organization.
Coordinates the acquisition of real estate parcels required for capital projects if necessary.
Aggressively manages the schedules and budgets to ensure positive project performance.
Oversees and manages the preparation of progress reports to monitor and control projects.
Conducts monthly project status briefs to upper management.
Exceed client expectations for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
Performs work in a safe manner and actively encourages others to comply with safety rules and regulations, including wearing of personal protective devices.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related fields.
10 to 12 years of related or equivalent experience, including project management experience.
Good understanding of Building Codes as they relate to the construction of the project.
Ability to read and comprehend engineering plans, with the ability to provide value engineering recommendations.
Knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, industry standards, and other project-related activities, their interfaces, and interdependencies.
Aviation experience a plus but not required.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
