North America Business Development Manager (American Ground Screw, Inc.)

Modern ground screw systems by American Ground Screw (AGS) are a simple and cost-effective alternative to traditional ground anchoring solutions, designed to secure a full spectrum of building projects on any terrain. AGS is headquartered in downtown Des Moines and since 2017 has been a leader in the ground screw solutions and distribution in the U.S. and Canada.
AGS seeks a full-time North America Sales Representative to join our committed, growth-focused team to serve inbound sales requests, proactively reach out to prospective customers, participate in trade shows in well-established markets (solar and residential construction), as well as develop and implement sales plans for markets in which AGS is currently growing (railroad, environmental construction, municipal applications). While the ideal candidate may have experience in construction or construction products sales, attitude, organization, and determination will be the primary qualities of a successful candidate.
This position is based in our Des Moines office, with travel (up to 20%) locally and nationally for trade shows and customer visits. Compensation consists of competitive base salary, generous commissions, a competitive insurance package, retirement, and PTO. Reports to: Director of Sales
Main responsibilities:
- Respond productively to incoming requests from new and existing customer in a prompt, professional manner. Provide timely and accurate competitive pricing to current prospects and cultivate existing relationships to drive greater sales growth.
- Identify potential customers that offer the greatest growth opportunity in both existing and developing application markets.
- Develop effective sales presentations, sales projections, and regular reports.
- Attend and represent AGS at trade shows in the solar power, construction, and other industries.
- Quickly develop and effectively communicate knowledge of all types of AGS product uses and help customers with customization of items for different custom applications.
- Effectively utilize CRM/ERP systems to ensure accurate management of customer interactions and orders.
- Work closely with Director of Sales and China-based sales staff to coordinate product sourcing and pricing, and market/product development tactics and strategies.
- Serve both small end-user customers consistently and reliably, as well as maintain the patience and persistence to navigate sales to large corporate customers.
- Actively communicate and collaborate with AGS team members to drive further development of the company’s brand and to implement sales plan most effectively.
- Collaborate to improve sales processing procedures with internal departments.
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player with the ability to plan and implement sales strategy with limited supervision.
- Ability to thrive in a competitive, goal-driven environment.
- Experience in all aspects of supplier relationship management.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and to operate with changing priorities.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in sales (in construction or construction products, preferably).
- Strong organizational and MS Office skills
