Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in telecommunications and electrical systems, with hands-on experience in both LAN and WAN environments. This role requires proficiency in using various hand and power tools, as well as the ability to read and interpret schematics. The Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Duties
- Installing ½” coaxial cable, cable supports, and associated infrastructure
- Installing antennas and antenna mounts suspended from cable trays (~35' high), using 4–5’ pipe drops
- Terminating ½” coax with compression connectors (if qualified)
- Performing PIM and Sweep Testing to validate system performance
- Proficient with hand tools and power tools effectively for various installation tasks.
- Operate bucket trucks safely to access elevated work areas for installation or maintenance.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify issues or areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems by analyzing schematics and utilizing appropriate testing equipment.
- Supporting quality assurance and adhering to site safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding project status and technical issues.
Qualifications
- Skilled in coaxial cable installation and termination
- Familiar with antenna mounting hardware and cable support systems
- Experience with PIM and Sweep Testing, including the use of Anritsu test equipment
- Proven experience in telecommunications or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and cabling standards.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and bucket trucks safely.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and the ability to read schematics is essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Preferred Certifications (not required but a plus):
- OSHA 10 or 30
- Anritsu or PIM Testing training/certification
- RF Safety Certification
