Summary
Lead APP - Radiation Oncology
The Lead APP serves as an Advance Practice Professional, practicing medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. This position provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.
Position Highlights:
· Serves as an intermediary between APPs and the Manager and Service Lead in collaboration, development, communication and implementation and monitoring of a broad range of initiatives, tasks and projects as directed by the APP Manager, Service Lead, Department Administrator or Program Chair; including managing schedules, employee related issues, mentoring and orienting APPs and problem-solving clinical issues.
· As a medical provider that is not a physician, but is licensed to diagnose and treat patients under the supervision of a physician, the Lead APP assists physicians in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients.
· The Lead APP is involved in a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures and co-morbidities.
· This position works independently within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s) or by specific protocol(s).
· This position will have 10% protected effort in order to perform the duties of the APP Lead.
- Helps support the APP Team, especially in regard to scheduling which in turn supports the patient experience.

Credentials and Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree at minimum; master's degree preferred
· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Registered Nurse program
· Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one) and national certification by the appropriate accreditation body.
· Active BLS
· Minimum one (1) year experience as an oncology APP provider and minimum of six (6) months in current specialty required. Two (2) years of oncology experience and demonstrated interest in the area strongly preferred.
· Has served in a leadership role in a program or hospital wide committee preferred.
