Summary
The lab of Dr. Michael Dunne, in the Department of Bioengineering, and the lab of Dr. Kenneth Tsai in the Departments of Anatomic Pathology & Tumor Biology at Moffitt Cancer Center seek a Research Associate to work in a Bioengineering wet lab in order to advance the development of topically applied therapeutics for the treatment of skin cancers. The Dunne Lab combines expertise in drug delivery, biomaterials, immunology, and medical imaging in order to develop novel cancer treatment strategies. The Tsai Lab has expertise in the development of murine skin cancer models and evaluation of therapeutics. The Research Associate will communicate effectively with our multidisciplinary team in order to develop and test novel treatment strategies.
Position Highlights:
- The Research Associate assumes the responsibility of performing chemical and biological research within the Department of Bioengineering.
- The Research Associate will gain experience working with next-generation pharmaceutical therapeutics and strategies for assessing (1) modulation of the tumor microenvironment and (2) efficacy of these novel therapeutics.

- Effectively plans and executes experimental procedures.
- Comfortably establishes and maintains effective working relationships with others and communicates clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities:
- Performing experiments in order to test hypotheses regarding skin penetration of therapeutic agents and nanoparticles.
- Analyze data from experiments using standardized procedures and protocols and under minimal supervision.
- Organization and permanent documentation of data in physical and electronic formats as appropriate.
- Contributes to the preparation of manuscripts, grants, administrative and research compliance documents as directed by supervisor.
- Maintains laboratory equipment in a clean and working order, including coordinating instrument standardization documented by written report.
- Reorders stock laboratory supplies when depleted under appropriate supervision.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
- Hands-on wet lab research experience is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
