Position Title: Project Manager

Reports to: Senior Project Manager

Position Classification: Client Contractor

FLSA Status: Non- Exempt

Assignment Duration: 6 Months – 12 Months (Opportunity for Direct Hire)

Location: Corpus Christi, TX

Work Schedule: Standard work schedule is Monday – Friday.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to the project team to develop execution strategies that advance the project
  • Responsible to create the environment for the various capabilities to contribute to the successful outcomes of the project defined by the project objectives.
  • FHR direct bills the hours worked against each individual project. Expectation to track hours to be billed to each specific project work, including travel, training and administrative work.
  • Leads the team to leverage key project tools, such as Decision-Making framework (DMF), project objectives and Business and Alignment Meetings (BEAM), Key Decision and Project Change Logs, Project Execution Plans, project schedules and estimates to align on project scope and design and provide transparency to the project execution strategies.
  • Has overall accountability and responsibility throughout the project duration to meet the Project Objectives and achieve a competitive outcome
  • Lead and contribute to marginal analysis of scope and decisions, such as technology or bid selection, and communicate through Key Decision Logs.
  • Partners with the project team, procurement and estimating to develop appropriate cost estimates and contingencies at each phase of the assigned projects.
  • Expected to build relationships with and understanding of other project team responsibilities in order to advance projects.
  • Communicates the Project Objectives to the Project Team
  • Communicates status of assigned projects on an ongoing basis to the Project Sponsor, Project Owner, Site Project Director, and other designated stakeholders
  • Establishes communications expectations for the project
  • Understand project execution work process -Project Management Guidelines (PMG) work process and contributing competitive strategies to improve project outcomes with the project team.
  • Partners with Procurement and the project to manage relationships with major contractors, suppliers and partners
  • Responsible to maintain financial control of the project by partnering with the Project Controls Capability and the use of cost estimates, budgets, schedules, forecasts, contingency, etc.
  • Manages the project’s risk management process
  • Oversees the timely creation of the Owner’s commissioning and start-up plans and their ongoing alignment with the Project Team during execution through mechanical completion
  • Responsible that the project integrated into the base business for successful commissioning, startup and utilization. Day 1 Readiness strategies and information is available to the broader organization through the various work processes and information systems.
  • Approves or delegates approval of all project purchases
  • Approves the process for submitting and approving change requests including tracking via a trend log

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Engineering preferred; PMP Certification is a plus
  • 5-8 years of experience in a Project Manager or related role within industrial, construction, or engineering environments
  • Proven experience in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze project risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Proficiency in contract management and vendor negotiations
  • Familiarity with engineering design processes and construction management principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Experience in ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Sit for long periods of time
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects

Environment: Working conditions encountered in this job include those found in a typical office setting as well as an indoor/outdoor manufacturing setting which includes exposure to outside weather conditions, work at elevated heights, climbing of stairs and ladders, and physical manipulation of tools and mechanical equipment. This job demands the use of typical manufacturing personal protective equipment as well as advanced protective equipment as needed.
