Purpose
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently while maintaining high safety, quality, and sanitation standards. This role involves leading and coaching production team members, monitoring workflow, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet production schedules and company objectives.
- Monitor workflow and ensure efficient use of equipment, materials, and personnel.
- Utilizing Redzone to monitor and improve OEE and troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records, including shift reports, performance metrics, and inventory usage
- Lead, train, and mentor production team members to improve efficiency and performance.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Address employee concerns and escalate issues as needed to management.
- Ensure all products meet company and regulatory quality standards (e.g., USDA, FDA, HACCP, SQF).
- Conduct quality checks and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Assist in audits and inspections, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives related to production issues.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: 2 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Bi-lingual in both English and Spanish preferred.
- Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality regulations (HACCP, GMP, SQF, USDA, FDA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management software.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in varying temperatures.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
