As the Project Engineer you will lead projects to design and install manufacturing equipment to support growth and improve productivity. You will be responsible for the strategic vision, budget and execution of plant capital projects. - The Project Engineer will have a leadership and planning role and will direct the steps of a project in an efficient manner.
- The Project Engineer will collaborate with other Engineers producing schematics and technical plans for a project as well as identifying supplies, resources and time they need to allot to a project.
- Project Engineers collect comprehensive data about aspects of a project, examining trends and helping determine how to manage change and growth.
- Project Engineers make budget recommendations, estimate time requirements and determine the resources necessary for meeting all a project’s goals.
- The Project Engineer will act as a Project Manager, responsible for leading a team of professionals in completing projects by a set deadline to uphold business initiatives.
- Their duties include dividing up their budget for different project aspects and advocating for additional funding when necessary, hiring freelance professionals or selecting project team members from existing departments and setting or adjusting project schedules to adhere to deadlines.
- Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
- Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
- Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
- Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
- Communicating with executives to keep the project aligned with their goals
- Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
- Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change
- Organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use specialized software for collaboration and time management, including spreadsheets, Asana, and
- Experience with process improvement
- Strong time management and analytical skills
- Firm understanding of complex mathematical concepts
- Proven leadership skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to create and edit AutoCAD Drawings
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or other specialized certification is a plus.
- 7 or more years of experience in the field and knowledge of project planning
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment
