**Job Overview:**
We are seeking two dedicated Shelter Navigators to join our team. The Shelter Navigator will play a crucial role in assisting individuals experiencing homelessness by providing support, guidance, and resources to help them access safe and stable housing options.
Available Positions:
Part Time Position - 20 hours/week (Orland Based Shelters)
Full Time Position - 40 hours/week (Ellsworth Based Shelter - Emmaus Center)
**Duties:**
- Work with shelter department employees and management to ensure program services are mission focused. Continuously seek to improve and implement best practices
- Develop individualized service plans in collaboration with clients to address their housing and support needs
- Provide information on available community resources, including housing assistance programs like Section 8
- Establish and foster relationships with housing programs, landlords, and property managers, case managers, and other shelter providers in the community to ensure adequate housing options for participants. Coordinate efforts to ensure participants receive available services and support needs tailored to fit their individual needs
- Assist clients in workforce development by connecting them with job training programs and employment opportunities
**Experience:**
- Previous experience in social work, behavioral health, or related field is preferred
- Familiarity with housing assistance programs such as Section 8 is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse populations
