The Heavy Equipment Service Department Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operation of our Service department. With over 5 years of management experience, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective processes to ensure the department continues to operate profitably and meet customer expectations.
As a seasoned professional with 7 years of experience operating or repairing heavy equipment, you will collaborate with the Service Coordinator to assign tasks to service technicians, ensuring that all internal and external equipment repairs and/or maintenance adhere to company and brand-specific procedures.
Maintaining a safe work environment is paramount, and you will ensure that all personnel follow company and government safety regulations while performing their job. Your attention to detail will also involve reviewing and maintaining all repair orders for accuracy and completeness prior to customer billing.
You will be responsible for managing items leaving the Parts department, checking for proper billing, and handling returns and cores from service. Additionally, you will facilitate scheduling field and shop repairs and/or maintenance to guarantee timely completion and maintain customer satisfaction.
An analytical mind will serve you well in determining appropriate charges for materials and labor for each customer or internal account. You must also identify, analyze, and comprehend schematics, charts, and mechanical/technical procedures.
We are seeking an individual with excellent communication skills who can effectively communicate with other department heads to create a cohesive team. Your ability to manage departmental budgets responsibly and knowledge of financial principles applied to a Service department are highly desirable.
A strong background in agriculture is a plus but not required. High school diploma or equivalent is necessary for this position. We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $70,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience.
