Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Review financial records, including income statements and documentation of expenditures.
- Utilize accounting software to ensure accurate data entry and calculations.
- Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary information for tax preparation.
- Provide guidance on tax-related issues, including deductions, credits, and compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to ethical standards.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and financial situations.
Experience
- Proven experience in tax preparation or public accounting is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage or similar platforms.
- Strong technical accounting skills with an emphasis on math proficiency.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Familiarity with financial sales concepts is a plus.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks.
- Previous experience as a clerk or in a related administrative role is advantageous.
