Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. The ideal candidate will provide expertise in business process analysis, system design, process improvement, and implementation efforts, ensuring seamless alignment between business needs and technical requirements. This role will also include change management support and training facilitation to drive adoption and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct business process analysis to understand and document current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather, define, and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Develop conceptual business models and utilize industry best practices to support system selection, process optimization, and change management strategies.
- Assess the operational and functional baselines of organizational components, including Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and technology deficiencies that impact business objectives and propose solutions to enhance operational performance.
- Generate functional area strategies to improve business operations across multiple organizational units, ensuring integration and efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT teams, project managers, and business leaders to ensure successful implementation of new systems and enhancements.
- Provide training and support to users to drive adoption of new processes and systems.
- Lead strategic assessments, account strategy sessions, and design reviews to ensure enterprise-wide alignment with business objectives.
- Assist in resolving complex problems by coordinating with cross-functional teams and recommending data-driven solutions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, or system implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of business processes related to HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations within a government or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in business analysis methodologies, process modeling, and requirement elicitation techniques.
- Experience with change management, stakeholder engagement, and user training.
- Familiarity with enterprise software solutions, ERP systems, and cloud-based applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with tools such as Microsoft Visio, JIRA, Confluence, or similar business analysis and project management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP), PMP, or Agile methodologies (Scrum Master, Product Owner) is a plus.
- Prior experience working with NIH or other federal healthcare organizations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of federal IT policies, compliance requirements, and security frameworks.
