Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful execution of large-scale and complex projects at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage multiple project aspects, ensuring alignment with NIH’s mission and operational objectives. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams, implement best practices, and ensure seamless project execution while maintaining quality, timeliness, and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of project management, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead and coordinate teams working on large-scale initiatives or significant segments of complex projects.
- Analyze and resolve project-related challenges by developing innovative and practical solutions involving technology, methodologies, financial management, and workflow optimization.
- Develop long-term and short-term project plans, ensuring alignment with NIH’s strategic goals.
- Provide expertise in applications systems analysis, including selection, development, maintenance, and production support.
- Ensure compliance with NIH policies, industry regulations, and federal government project management standards.
- Manage stakeholder communications, facilitating collaboration between internal teams, external partners, and key government officials.
- Track and report project progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Optimize the use of project management tools, methodologies, and best practices to enhance efficiency and deliverables.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Public Health, or a related field.

Experience:
- Proven track record managing large-scale and complex projects within a federal or healthcare setting.
- Strong background in technology-driven project management with expertise in software development, infrastructure deployment, or enterprise solutions.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in a project environment.
- Familiarity with NIH, HHS, or other federal healthcare organizations is highly desirable.

- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- Agile/Scrum Certification (CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP, etc.)
- ITIL, Six Sigma, or Lean Methodologies
