Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial reports. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the integrity of our financial data.
Responsibilities
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial statements.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, providing insights into the organization’s financial status.
- Manage debits and credits effectively to maintain balanced accounts.
- Process payroll accurately and timely for all employees.
- Conduct general ledger accounting, ensuring all entries are recorded correctly.
- Execute general ledger reconciliation to verify the accuracy of account balances.
- Apply knowledge of financial concepts to assist in budgeting and forecasting.
- Utilize double-entry bookkeeping methods to maintain comprehensive records.
- Perform bank reconciliation to ensure that bank statements align with company records.
- Assist in clerical tasks related to accounting functions as needed.
- Knowledge of the construction or contracting industry is a plus but not required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles, payroll processing, and financial regulations.
- Familiarity with financial report writing and analysis.
- Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping and bank reconciliation techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
- Proficient in Quickbooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
