What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Supervisor position at Hörmann?
The Warehouse Supervisor plans, organizes and manages the storage and distribution of sectional products, frames and accessories received from suppliers and or manufacturing assembly lines. Also, included is pull and delivery of finished goods to the shipping department. Areas of responsibility for this role, include but may not be limited to warehouse racking, tent storage, all sectional and accessory staging areas to include the outer perimeters of the building. This warehouse supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of work and maximizing productivity of our warehouse. This position reports directly to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager. Pay range for this position is $60k - $62k per year.
Essential Duties
- Direct responsibility for the storage, organization and distribution of sectional products and accessories; ensure that organization and housekeeping is a top priority of all team members.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of team members involved in warehouse activities on both the day and night shifts; assigns and schedules work load to ensure their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations
- Manages team to meet customer demands and effectively communicates any deviations that prevent the completion of customer orders (backorders).
- Plans and coordinates countermeasures to fulfill all customer shortages and or backorders.
- Optimize employee workflow
- Determine and track critical warehouse key performance indicators
- Establishes timelines for the transfer and storage of all inbound and manufactured products under area of responsibility (products include but are not limited to stock and ATO sections, frames, aluminum rails, astragal, vinyl, and aluminum retainer).
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and methods
- Communicate and collaborate with other team members
- Track inventory levels and adjust storage space required as needed; provide feedback to inventory control and or purchasing when inventory discrepancies are discovered
- Train, guide and evaluate new and existing warehouse personnel
Essential Job Skills and Experience
Education/experience: Any combination of education providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three to five years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management in a manufacturing environment with two years supervisory experience
Knowledge: Principles, practices, and methods of shipping and receiving. Working knowledge of federal and local laws and regulations that are used for the selection, development, promotion and performance change issues including reviews and corrective actions.
Skill: Leadership, performance management, problem solving/analysis, communication and time management. Organizational skills are critical for this role to ensure that products are stored, pulled and staged in a manner conducive to an efficient warehouse operation.
Ability: Ability to motivate, train and effectively communicate goals and objectives to team members. Ability to drive change (processes, programs, policies, etc.) Ability to problem solve.
