Located in Livonia, Michigan, the 120 employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for design, development, manufacturing, assembly and support of landing gear, actuation systems and other aerospace components.
As part of the Central Division you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs supporting Boeing, LockHeed Martin, Parker Hannifan, and military initiatives such as the B-2 Stealth, F105, and V280.
With a strong focus on latest technology of the manufacturing processes with machining automation and techniques we aim to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.

The Quality Assurance Engineer-Customer (QEC) main function is to assure all Beaver Aerospace and Defense customers are provided with world class service for all Quality Assurance related requirements. The QEC coordinates and works with the customer base and internal functional areas to determine root cause, then implement corrective and preventive actions for all identified customer Quality related Issues.
Main responsibilities:
- Participate with Design Engineering Customer Qualification testing of new or existing product to assure all supplied product is in strict compliance and will pass all customer requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact for customer concerns/issues and provide technical support and timely assistance.
- Initiate internal evaluations for any customer concerns. Lead investigations and associated tasks.
- Initiate/coordinate corrective actions based on customer concerns.
- Maintain and update all relevant information in customer portals.
- Communicate all relevant customer information including Approved Supplier Lists, Fixed and Frozen requirements, etc. Working with the Material’s group to assure these requirements are flowed down objectively to suppliers through P.O. submissions.
- Coordinate Lab testing for suspect product or any other customer testing requirements.
- Participate/contribute internally for Continuous Improvement activity based on MRB, RMA and Kaizen event activity.
- Participate in the evaluation/viability of new equipment for testing, inspection, etc. and make recommendations.
- Responsible for the contract review and RMA processes. Assuring all relevant customer requirements are well understood and documented internally to assure Beaver Aerospace is capable of compliance.
- Participate in internal audits.
- Write procedures and work instructions as needed.
- 5-10 years experience in Quality Assurance related roles
- BS/BA degree is preferred
- Thorough knowledge of documentation and engineering terminology
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Impeccable accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Strong written, analytical, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Able to coordinate meetings and other activities to completion with a strong ability to see projects to completion.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of AS9100 and audit requirements and their applications
- Knowledge of customer requirements
- Ability to review and understand the requirements of customer contracts
- Ability to understand and apply Lean, 5Why, 8D, 5S, CI and other quality analytical tools
- Experience in various electronic drawing file formats
- Strong understanding of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat
- Experience in managing records within an electronic document control system
- Leadership and human relations skills to communicate and tactfully enforce policy and compliance specifications to staff and management
