Deli Service

Position Summary

We are looking for people that are passionate about serving others AND who are passionate about making food! Must be very personable and outgoing- with the ability to greet and draw the attention of our customers to our delis. We are looking for a team player with exceptional communication skills- both written and verbal, as well as someone who can multitask and prioritize- all with a sense of urgency. The ideal candidate will have the ability to take orders from customers both in person and over the phone- prepare and serve both cold and hot deli foods- maintain a clean work environment- and consistently put the customer 1 st !

Responsibilities And Duties

• Slicing meats and cheeses.
• Preparation of hot and cold entrée items.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation through daily and weekly cleaning.
• Maintain safety protocols and be well versed in proper food handling technique per SERV safe guidelines.
• Maintain professional grooming and hygiene standards in accordance with Power Market Guidelines.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Take orders in person and over the phone.
• Ability to plan and forecast the daily and weekly needs for production.
• Ability to assist the Deli manager with weekly and monthly inventory.
• Ability to assist the Deli manager with weekly ordering.
  
  

Education And Work Experience

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic-intermediate knife proficiency
• Must have a basic understanding of the English Language
• Must have the ability to read and interpret recipes
• Must have basic math skills to assist in quantity measurement, percentage, proportions, ratios, volume, and basic algebra.

• Deli Slicer
• Deep Fryer
• Oven
• Flat Top
• Thermometer
• Scales
• Hot/Cold Case
• Ability to work independently- with effective time management and prioritization
• Ability to read, understand, and follow through on directions- both written and verbal
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a food handlers’ Certificate
• Must be sales oriented
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, lift, and stand constantly- up to 4 hours- 8 hours per shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs unassisted
  
  

Ability to work with various food materials with no negative allergic reactions

Work Environment

• Must be able to work any shift- including weekends and holidays
• Must be able to tolerate basic cleaning chemicals used for routine housekeeping
• Must be able to maneuver on uneven surfaces
• Ability to work outside
• Ability to work in changing environments- including both extreme heat and cold
• Ability to work in loud environment
