The Role and Responsibilities

As an Accountant, you play a crucial role in assisting with the company’s financial transactions, reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. You support the execution of financial tasks aligned with company policies, US GAAP, and local tax regulations. Your role contributes to maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in compliance efforts, and supporting financial planning and analysis to ensure the company’s financial health and operational success. By ensuring financial accuracy, optimizing cash flow, and strengthening internal controls, you help maintain the company’s financial stability, supporting both daily operations and long-term strategic growth.

Your Key Areas of Impact

Fixed Asset Management: You manage accounting for and tracking company assets and capital expenditure projects, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposal in accordance with GAAP and company policies. By maintaining accurate fixed asset registers and conducting periodic audits, you help ensure financial statements reflect the true value of company resources, prevent asset mismanagement, and support strategic financial planning for future investments.

Financial Reporting, General Ledger, and Month-End Close: You assist with journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Your role in balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and tracking of financial impacts contributes to the integrity of financial data. By keeping financial records transparent and well-organized, you help prevent reporting errors, ensure compliance with external and internal standards, and facilitate smooth audits, allowing leadership to make data-driven decisions with confidence.

Accounts Payable and Receivable: You assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivables (AR) operations, ensuring efficient processing of invoices, payments and collections while maintaining strong vendor relationships. You assist with weekly AP payment runs and with monitoring outstanding invoices on the receivables side.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Cost Accounting: You may assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and cost analysis, helping leadership make informed financial decisions. By ensuring cost allocation, variance analysis, and expense tracking remain accurate and up to date, you enhance cost control, support financial predictability, and enable leadership to allocate resources more effectively, ensuring long-term financial health.

Reconciliations and Banking Administration: You assist with bank and account reconciliations, transaction monitoring, and vendor account verification to ensure financial records remain error-free. By supporting corporate credit card reconciliations and banking administration, you help maintain financial accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and ensure that company funds are managed securely and efficiently, reducing the risk of discrepancies and fraud.

Internal Controls, Process Improvement, and Financial Systems: You assist in implementing internal controls, streamlining accounting workflows, and enhancing financial reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy. By supporting process automation and ERP system enhancements (SAP S4 Hana Cloud), you help reduce manual errors, enhance financial security, and ensure compliance with financial regulations, contributing to overall operational excellence.

Tax Compliance and Audit Support: You assist in sales and use tax calculations and corporate tax filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. By supporting internal and external audits, preparing accurate financial records, and resolving discrepancies efficiently, you help minimize tax liabilities, prevent regulatory penalties, and ensure smooth audit processes, safeguarding the company from financial and legal risks.

Subsidy Reporting and Grant Management: You assist in compiling and submitting documentation for subsidy programs, grants, and tax incentives, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. By maintaining compliance with funding requirements and optimizing the use of available financial resources, you help secure financial benefits for the company, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational sustainability.

Corporate Travel, Vehicle Policy, and Expense Management: You assist in ensuring compliance with corporate vehicle and travel policies, maintaining mileage logs, expense tracking, and travel reimbursements. By supporting cost-effective travel and vehicle policy enforcement, you help reduce unnecessary expenditures, ensure adherence to company policies, and improve cost transparency, contributing to overall financial efficiency.

Requirements:

You’ve received your bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in accounting, finance, or related field, and you’ve spent at least five (5) years in an accounting position with a focus on general accounting and asset management. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certificate in good standing is highly desirable. You work with a high-level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management. You are proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proficient in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technology, particularly SAP S4 Hana Cloud.

The Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Travel

Your work is conducted primarily in an office setting, with occasional interaction in a manufacturing setting requiring flexibility to work both in office and production floor environments. Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures may occur, necessitating the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. This job requires remaining in a stationary position 75% of the time, whether standing or sitting, and moving about inside the facility. This job requires manual dexterity, as it involves operating office equipment, handling paperwork, and inputting data. The ability to discern various sounds, especially when conducting meetings or managing calls, is crucial. This job requires operating a computer 90% of the time. This job requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on occasion.
