The Position

As a Program Manager I, you will support the Client’s business operations. You will be responsible for all programmatic aspects of your assigned projects, honing in on customer relationships, cost, schedule, and technical planning. Other responsibilities will include tracking and reporting, technical execution, and ensuring overall program performance objectives are achieved. Additionally, you will participate in business resource planning and monitoring in coordination with other corporate entities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the program achieves its performance objectives and adheres to budget and schedule constraints
  • Regularly report on program status to stakeholders, including progress updates, risks, and issues
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring that their requirements and expectations are met
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and feedback, ensuring open and transparent communication
  • Coordinate resources and ensure that the right skills and capabilities are available to meet program requirements
  • Track and manage risks throughout the lifecycle of the program, ensuring that potential issues are addressed before they impact performance
  • Monitor the technical execution of the program, ensuring it meets quality standards and specifications
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess program success, and identify areas for improvement
  • Maintain detailed records of program progress, issues, and resolutions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to management and stakeholders
  • Lead the preparation, review, and submission of proposals, quotes, and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs)
  • Ensure that resources are allocated efficiently to meet program needs, optimizing resource utilization
  • Ensure program documentation, processes, and execution follow best practices and established guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and quality standards in all aspects of the program’s execution
  • Recommend and develop new templates, tools, and guidelines to enhance program documentation and execution
  • Assist in program-related decision-making, including strategic planning, budget management, and resource allocation
  • Provide detailed analysis and recommendations to leadership for optimizing program performance
  • Resolve conflicts within the team or with external stakeholders professionally and effectively
  • Prepare and deliver briefings and presentations to senior leadership, providing status updates and addressing concerns

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No immediate direct reports

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or technical-related discipline – Relevant experience may be considered in place of required education
  • Leadership abilities including successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding people accountable, & conducting yearly reviews
  • Requires ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead & inspire your team, drive innovative thinking, instill collaboration, drive for success, challenge status quo, & demonstrate the ability to adapt to dynamic situations
  • Requires skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, & literacy in program management disciplines
  • Experience with evaluation of requests for proposals &/or quotes & experience with preparing, reviewing, & submitting proposals &/or quotes
  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS)
  • Working knowledge of Program Management Institute Program Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Managing projects using Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), agile, and or spiral development models
  • Managing projects requiring Earned Value Management
  • Understanding with application tools and data architecture
  • Ability to reinforce the usage & application of Corporate PM tools, lead PM process & tool improvement for the Enterprise
  • Ability to keep program management informed of function & process changes within project controls
  • Ability to enhance program management expertise in the staff
  • Ability to establish a centralized, coordinating body for PM concerns, recommendations, & issues; developing recommended process improvements; facilitating opportunities with Enterprise Program Finance
  • Experience with ensuring compliance with approved Corporate and ISO 9001:2000 Policies and Processes
  • Frequently repeat the same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity

Work Environment

  • On-site candidates preferred. Position located in Sparks, Nevada
  • Hybrid candidates may be considered

Compensation

  • $45.00 – $50.00 per hour

Preferred Experience

  • Typically 2-7 years of related experience or Bachelor’s in Engineering, Aviation, or Management
  • Atleast 2-7 years of program management experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • PMP Certification
