Our team in Mississippi is looking for a Safety Manager , QAQC to complete their team. Our next colleague will coordinate and manage safety protocols, training, and compliance for our project sites, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

- Coordinate and perform weekly safety meetings for all departments (Water & Sewer, Streets & Drainage);
- Manage required training, including leading training, helping staff complete online training, organizing external training and documenting certificates and credentials;
- Communicate HSE alerts, goals and objectives and performance to both staff and leadership;
- Oversee the SOSPES safety management system, incident investigations, following up on close calls and safety observations, managing inspection/forms completion, and training;
- Handle general liability claims, including investigation, documentation, and communication with the public;
- Generate and maintain weekly safety reports for construction crews;
- Order and manage project safety supplies;
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations;
- Administer the prescription safety glasses program for employees;
- Collaborate with staff and the Corporate HSE team on developing and implementing new safety policies and procedures;
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by upper management and the City of Gulfport Public Works Department.
- High school diploma or GED;
- Valid driver’s license
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management;
- Knowledge of trenching and heavy equipment excavation for OSHA requirements;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe PDF;
- Ability to generate and manage documentation for safety training and incident investigations;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with the public, team members, and supervisors;
- Knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions;
- Capability to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions;
- OSHA 10-hour and 40-hour certifications (Asset);
- Additional certifications in safety or related fields (Asset);
