Plumbing Apprentice, 2 yrs experience in the plumbing field. Must have a valid driver's license. A strong work ethic with a desire to learn and take daily feedback. Assisting experienced plumbers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in homes and businesses, primarily by learning the trade through hands-on experience, including tasks like carrying tools, cleaning job sites, and basic pipe cutting, bending, and fixture installation.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting journeyman plumbers:Actively support experienced plumbers in all aspects of plumbing work, including identifying issues, preparing work areas, and following instructions on how to perform repairs and installations.
- Basic plumbing skills:knowledge of pipe cutting, threading, soldering, and bending techniques, as well as proper use of plumbing tools.
- Installing fixtures: installation of toilets, sinks, faucets, showers, and other plumbing fixtures.
- Cleaning and maintaining job sites:Keep work areas clean and organized, including removing debris and disposing of materials properly.
- Carrying tools and materials:Transport necessary tools, pipes, and supplies to job sites.
- Following safety guidelines:Adhere to all safety protocols related to plumbing work, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Attending training programs:Participate in required classroom instruction and on-the-job training to learn plumbing codes, industry standards, and best practices.
Skills and qualifications:
- Physical ability:Must be able to lift heavy objects, work in tight spaces, and stand for extended periods.
- Basic mechanical skills:Prior experience with hand tools and basic understanding of how mechanical systems work.
- Willingness to learn:A strong desire to learn the plumbing trade and commitment to ongoing training.
