Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Manufacturing Engineer working in Schaumburg, Champaign and/or Fisher Illinois. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all locations manufacturing processes, designing manufacturing systems, optimizing production methods, to enhance quality, reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze machining issues or production bottlenecks, such as tool wear, incorrect machine settings, or material defects, working with employees to identify the root causes of problems, submitting CA’s and CRF’s as necessary.
- Evaluate and improve existing manufacturing processes to increase productivity, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, cost, or quality, utilizing machining methods, tooling, and operations to reduce cycle time, improve quality, and increase productivity.
- Continually assess and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effective production of parts and products.
- Recommend new manufacturing processes, that boost efficiency while adhering quality standards and customer specifications.
- Explore and recommend automation technologies or mechanization to enhance production speed, reduce manual labor or improve manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience in Machining (mill, turn, grind), Fabrication (laser, turret, form, bend, shear, roll), Welding (MIG, TIG, Robotic), Paint (wet and powder)
- Knowledge of various sheet metal alloys to understand manufacturability
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex, tight tolerance, engineering drawings, blueprints, callouts, and specifications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with competing timelines, while maintaining a level head, in a fast- paced environment
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail/accuracy, project management with sound judgment and good decision-making abilities, for critical decisions thinking
- Proven ability to drive results from concept to completion
