We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead our manufacturing engineering efforts. This role will involve driving process improvements, deploying new equipment, managing manufacturing capabilities, and facilitating employee training initiatives.

- Process Improvement & Cost Reduction:
- Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production costs.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost reduction strategies.
- Deployment of New Equipment & Capabilities:
- Manage the installation, testing, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and technologies.
- Assess new equipment and technologies, making recommendations for purchase to improve manufacturing capabilities.
- Oversee the integration of new equipment into existing operations to ensure smooth transitions and minimal downtime.
- Manufacturing Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide ongoing technical support to production teams to resolve any engineering or operational issues.
- Assist in the development of best practices and troubleshooting protocols for the manufacturing floor.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure all machinery and equipment operate at optimal efficiency.
- Training & Development:
- Develop and implement training programs for shop floor employees to enhance their technical skills and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Mentor and coach shop floor personnel to improve their troubleshooting, operational, and technical capabilities.
- Ensure that all employees adhere to safety standards and quality protocols.
- Collaboration & Reporting:
- Collaborate with operations, production, and quality teams to ensure alignment with overall production goals.
- Provide regular reports on process improvement, project progress, and cost-saving initiatives to senior management.
- Develop and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure the effectiveness of implemented changes.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, with a focus on process improvement, equipment deployment, and cost reduction.
- Experience in a high-spec industry such as aerospace, defense, healthcare, or power generation is a plus.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, assembly, and fabrication.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software and engineering tools.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and train shop floor employees effectively.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel between the three Illinois sites as needed.
