Server – Little Palace/Ha Long Bay:

The Role…

We are looking for a charismatic and quick-thinking person to fill the Server position as part of our team. As a Server, you will attend to guests throughout their meal to provide the best possible dining experience. You will be responsible for providing information about the menu, taking and delivering food and drink orders, and keeping up with guest requests to provide a personal touch. This role requires a sharp memory as well as the ability to quickly adapt to changing situations, all while upholding a charismatic and inviting interaction with each guest to ensure that needs are met during service.

Job Duties:

• Extensive knowledge of the menu at time of service, ability to promptly answer or find answers to guest questions.
• Attentively and accurately taking and recording guest food/drink orders
• Properly coursing out meals to provide a smooth dining experience.
• Delivering food and beverages promptly and without error, adhering to guest requests as well as restaurant policy
• Ensuring proper fulfillment and presentation of food/drink orders before delivery, communicating with kitchen staff regarding any errors
• Keeping up with guest requests and checking in with tables intermittently
• Maintaining cleanliness and reducing table clutter by bussing tables as guests complete their courses.
• Informing bussers of tables in need of more extensive cleaning/resetting
• Efficiently and accurately communicating with kitchen staff regarding special requests
• Providing personal recommendations and informing guests on specials and promotions to enhance the dining experience.
• Handling payment with proper conduct (e.g. timely presentation of check, returning change and cards promptly, informing guests of possible gratuity)
• Adhering to restaurant policies and procedures regarding guest service, food safety, and restaurant maintenance
• Completing checkout reports and properly tipping out hosts, bussers, and kitchen staff
• Assisting with front of house closing duties

• Ability to keep calm and perform within the stressful environment of a bustling restaurant.
• Ability to use organizational systems to multitask and ensure prompt and proper service.
• Must be able to take direction from management in order to properly adapt to the role.
• Prior experience in restaurant service preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to move, pull, carry, and lift up to 20 lbs.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
