The Information Technology Audio Visual Technician is responsible for the maintenance, configuration,
and troubleshooting of all audio-visual (A/V) systems and IT infrastructure. This role requires strong
technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as
part of a team. Additionally, the IT A/V Technician will assume help desk duties when not engaged in A/V
tasks, providing support for general IT issues.
Major Duties:
- Provides first contact, help desk support for end users.
- Verify that employees' workstations are working efficiently and operating as intended.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of workstations, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting hardware and software.
- Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to plan and execute A/V projects.
- Performs routine maintenance on county IT equipment as needed.
- Support and maintenance of all A/V equipment such as projectors, displays, sound systems,
- Resolve A/V and IT related issues in a timely manner.
- Support for all A/V needs within Habersham County.
- Test equipment prior to events to ensure seamless operation.
- Provides assistance to the helpdesk as needed when not engaged in A/V support.
- Provides technical support for A/V setups and events within the county.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on A/V equipment as needed.
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Create and modify guides/FAQs as needed for end users for the operation of all A/V equipment
- Setup and breakdown of A/V equipment for meetings and conferences.
- Work with other departments on upcoming events, planning and scheduling equipment needs
per event.
• This position requires attendance at night meetings at least once a month with the possibility of
additional meetings as needed.
• Will participate in rotating on-call duties and is expected to be available for problem resolution
24/7 while on call.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree in an Information Technology related field or equivalent combination of
- At least two years of related applicable experience (preferred)
- Experience with virtual meeting platforms (Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Zoom, etc.)
- Strong multi-tasking, customer service, and communication skills, including the ability to
- Knowledge of applicable hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Knowledge of audio and video equipment.
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and video editing techniques and
- Ability to design and develop systems and document procedures.
- Proficient computer skills in programs including, but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Preferred: CompTIA A
- Local government IT experience highly desired.
- Valid Class C Georgia Driver's License and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Proven experience in A/V and/or IT support roles.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office software.
- Strong analytical skills. Must be able to work independently and track work tasks in
accordance with IT SOPs. Ability to document procedures and build knowledgebase for
related work.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in
- Knowledge of control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX).
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

- Demonstrate confidence, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude working with others.
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
