Habitat America, LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Floating Preventative Maintenance Technician in Washington, DC. This position will be primarily responsible for performing preventative maintenance inspections for our Washington DC communities. Travel between sites will be required for this position. Applicants who are qualified for this position have 3 years prior apartment maintenance experience. HVAC & CFC certifications and experience working with convector heat systems is a plus. This position does not require on call rotation. The position is essential and is required to report for inclement weather duties.
This position is responsible primarily for preventative maintenance inspections, contractor relations and special projects related to general apartment maintenance. The Preventative Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Community Manager of each community.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Inspects residential apartments, common areas and grounds as required according to company policies and procedures.
- Maintains records and prepares reports according company policies
- Assists in prioritizing work orders after inspections are completed.
- Must be able to understand and oversee work performed by contractors.
- Energetic, self-motivated individual who can work as a team.
- Must have previous experience with apartment maintenance.
- Skill set in plumbing and carpentry is a plus.
- HVAC/CFC Certification are a plus
- Accompanies contractors as needed for repairs/projects.
- Must always have a pleasant and professional demeanor.
- Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Requires extensive mobility and excellent physical condition.
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
