Description
JOB SUMMARY
Create, document and implement plans to improve construction operations. This will include the continuation of enhancing construction strategies, integration of new technology and systems, and the coordination of green initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the continued rollout of Microsoft Project for new home scheduling.
- Develop a continuation plan for who will maintain the processes put in place when you are no longer employed by HFHCAZ.
- Research and explore opportunities for implementing more green building techniques.
- Create templates for the construction flow chart of infill lots and subdivisions in Microsoft Project from the purchase of land to close of escrow.
- Install a system for archiving all homes built and tracked in Microsoft Project.
- Develop a tutorial for common commands and edits in Microsoft Project (Youtube links/training modules/etc.).Coordinate/educate construction team about the Zero Energy Ready Home Certification.
- Engage in innovative projects.
- Establish/maintain positive, effective relationships and communication with project team and other stakeholders.
- Assist Pre-Construction Operations Manager on all projects.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Understanding and accepting of the Habitat for Humanity purpose, mission, principles, and covenant.
- Must have Arizona Driver License and auto insurance at the required state levels.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Proven skills in written and verbal communication, including presentations before groups.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Work collaboratively with project team members.
- Computer literacy – AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint.
- Strong organization and planning skills.
- Sensitivity to multi-cultural and multi-economic participants.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
- Three or more years experience with residential development and/or project management.
- Experience with the entitlement and building plan approval process is essential.
- B.A. in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive knowledge of environmentally sustainable construction and maintenance practices, procedures and techniques, as well as applicable local, state and federal building codes.
- Familiarity with local and national green building certification programs, specifically Energy Star, SRP Powerwise, and LEED for Homes.
