JOB SUMMARY:
The Job Developer’s primary goal is to fully prepare each trainee by ensuring that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to compete for a career in the construction industry. This individual’s responsibility is to administer the transition services for job and apprenticeship placement. This individual will develop and collaborate with local construction contractors in the valley. The Job Developer will be responsible for assisting trainees in assessing their skills, interests, and abilities, identifying job opportunities and preparing for interviews. The ideal candidate should have excellent networking skills, the ability to build relationships, and a deep understanding of the local labor market and job trends. The Job Developer will facilitate trainee employment and ensure a smooth transition into the workforce.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Identify job opportunities and potential employers that match the skills and interests of trainees.
- Develop partnerships with local businesses and employers to facilitate job placements.
- Provide trainees with information about job vacancies, career paths, and employment-related topics.
- Collaborate with the career coach to assist trainees in preparing for job interviews and helping them to understand the job market.
- Develop job descriptions and specifications in collaboration with employers.
- Negotiate job terms and conditions with employers on behalf of trainees.
- Monitor and follow up with both the employer and the trainee after placement.
- Provide feedback to trainees about their job search strategies and interview skills.
- Work closely with the career coach, case manager, and other professionals to provide holistic support to trainees.
- Keep records of job placements, employer contacts, and other relevant information.
- Meet with trainees to assess their skills, interests, and career goals.
- Identify suitable job opportunities based on trainee assessments.
- Coordinate with employers to identify job vacancies and facilitate client placement.
- Monitor trainee progress and provide ongoing support after job placement.
- Conduct job market research and stay updated on industry trends.
- Network with local businesses and organizations to identify potential job opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Social Services, or a relevant field.
- Proven experience as a Job Developer, Career Counselor or similar role.
