Pay Range: Starting at $12.00 Per Hour + Tips

Job Description

 

Basic Functions:  Oversee all day-to-day operations of Julia’s Café.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain acceptable levels of resale items with minimum waste
  • Provide customer service and information/education about Habitat and coffee to customers
  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and lunches
  • Promote coffee consumption by educating customers
  • Maintain supplies in stock levels within budget guidelines
  • Assist with hiring and training of volunteers and team members
  • Assist with day-to-day operations
  • Be an effective team member when working with staff and volunteers, ensuring the engagement and motivation of others
  • Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude when working with employees, customers, donors, volunteers and the public
  • Ensure a meaningful volunteer experience
  • Represent Habitat in a positive, professional manner to all donors, customers, and others you come in contact with
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for customers, employees and volunteers
  • Assist in ensuring that each customer receives outstanding customer service
  • Operate a cash register periodically, as needed
  • Ability to read, count and accurately complete reports and all end of day documentation
  • Regular and reliable job attendance
  • Adhere to schedule
  • Maintain a presentable appearance, including Julia’s appropriate attire
  • Ability to adhere to Habitats Code of Conduct policies and other policies
  • Have had valid Driver's License for at least five years
  • Habitat Charlotte Region-related tasks as requested by Supervisor

 

Education/Skills:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math or POS experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Management and Customer Service experience
  • Show initiative

 

Physical Requirements:        

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, Saturdays and Holidays

Estimated Time Commitment:    40 hours/week
