Job Description
Basic Functions: Oversee all day-to-day operations of Julia’s Café.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain acceptable levels of resale items with minimum waste
- Provide customer service and information/education about Habitat and coffee to customers
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and lunches
- Promote coffee consumption by educating customers
- Maintain supplies in stock levels within budget guidelines
- Assist with hiring and training of volunteers and team members
- Assist with day-to-day operations
- Be an effective team member when working with staff and volunteers, ensuring the engagement and motivation of others
- Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude when working with employees, customers, donors, volunteers and the public
- Ensure a meaningful volunteer experience
- Represent Habitat in a positive, professional manner to all donors, customers, and others you come in contact with
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for customers, employees and volunteers
- Assist in ensuring that each customer receives outstanding customer service
- Operate a cash register periodically, as needed
- Ability to read, count and accurately complete reports and all end of day documentation
- Regular and reliable job attendance
- Adhere to schedule
- Maintain a presentable appearance, including Julia’s appropriate attire
- Ability to adhere to Habitats Code of Conduct policies and other policies
- Have had valid Driver's License for at least five years
- Habitat Charlotte Region-related tasks as requested by Supervisor
Education/Skills:
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math or POS experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Management and Customer Service experience
- Show initiative
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, Saturdays and Holidays
