Basic Function:

The Director of Corporate Relations and Engagement will be expected to manage and develop a caseload of 100-150 active corporate prospects and help identify and execute strategies for the solicitation of these potential donors. In addition to securing major donations and event sponsorships, this position will manage the coordination and logistics for related engagements including neighborhood engagements, larger off-site corporate build events, faith relations events and other community engagements for larger groups. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Development and works closely with all development team members and other Habitat affiliate staff including the President & CEO and board, to identify, cultivate, solicit, and acknowledge corporate donors. The Director of Corporate Relations and Engagement should expect to spend no less than 50% of their time out of office, meeting potential donors, serving as a presence in the community, and building strong relationships with supporters.

Key Responsibilities

· Achieve annual fundraising goals and key performance indicators

· Identify, cultivate and solicit philanthropic partnerships with corporations to support general operations of Affiliate as well as special event goals.

· Responsible for identifying prospects, developing and proposing strategies for the cultivation of corporations.

· Provide effective coordination of activities and logistics, including team builds, off-site DIY events, neighborhood engagements, community events and key affiliate special events.

· Collaborate with Vice President of Development, Director of Marketing and Volunteer Supervisor on analyzing and strategizing regarding the conversion of volunteers to donors

· Serve as a liaison between donors and Habitat to ensure corporations develop a meaningful relationship with Habitat Metro Maryland

· Work with Resource Development staff to ensure appropriate stewardship of gifts via acknowledgement letters, phone calls, gift policies, adherence to donor bill of right, accurate information on how their gifts are used to benefit families and the community as a whole

· Create cultivation and solicitation opportunities to engage new corporate donors and strengthen ongoing donor relationships in collaboration with other Resource Development staff

· Establish and maintain relationships with neighborhood engagement partners, faith organizations and community organizations as well as manage logistics for related events and opportunities to partner

· Research and create a pipeline of prospective donors. As opportunities arise, actively attend relevant community and business events that have potential to yield new prospects for the affiliate

· Ensure that the donor database information is current and accurate

· Assist the Vice President of Development to fundraise and grow specific programs, projects and events

· Ability to lead corporate and group volunteer engagements, including acting as a primary liaison to corporate, faith and community partners, managing event logistics such as ordering necessary materials and supplies, coordinating delivery/ pick up of materials as well as transporting supplies via pick-up truck as required

· Utilize volunteers and/or interns to implement programs as needed

· Be an outstanding, confident, and knowledgeable spokesperson for Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland

Qualifications:

· Self-starter with an ability to take initiative and effectively direct multiple priorities simultaneously

· Possess at least a Bachelor’s degree with at least three to five years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising

· Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising with ability to convert relationships into financial gifts that will ensure annual fundraising goals are exceeded

· Ability to create compelling proposals

· Ability to complete corporate reports and provide regular/ monthly corporate summaries

· Be able to travel- requires a personal vehicle, insurance and valid driver’s license

· Ability to drive a pick-up truck when required to transport materials for events and volunteer engagements

· Work independently and be self-motivated in initiating contacts with potential donors

· Ability to think through and create/ follow timelines

· Excel at multi-tasking with various projects and deadlines; attention to detail is a must

· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

· Knowledge of donor database systems in general. Experience with Bloomerang and/or Classy is a plus

· Knowledge using volunteer database such as Volunteer Hub a plus.

· Ability to lift up to 20 lb

· Ability to work in fast- paced, open, team- oriented, business casual office

· Able to work nights and weekends as necessary

· Able to collaborate well with others

Highly recommended skills and qualifications:

· Experience working with diverse communities and housing related issues

· Passion and understanding of the Habitat for Humanity mission and the desire to promote it!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
