Job Title: Driver
Reports to: ReStore Manager
Job Overview:
The Driver will spend 4-6 hours per day on our Habitat box truck picking up donations from the local community. Often, this individual is the first face-to-face contact that our donors have with Habitat for Humanity. It is essential that this person represent Habitat in a professional, enthusiastic manner.
When not on the truck, the work environment is a retail setting, with a high level of interaction with customers, donors, and volunteers. Strong social and communication skills are required. A qualified candidate for this position will be comfortable working in this environment. Good candidates will possess a positive attitude, take initiative, remain productive on and off of the truck, and strive for continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Must exhibit initiative and strong work ethic, capable of remaining productive throughout the day
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in a strenuous environment which frequently involves heavy lifting
- Must have valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record with minimal moving violations
- Must be capable of working productively in a team environment, with a combination of employees and volunteers
Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility for operations centered around Habitat’s donation pick up service
- Completes scheduled pick-ups on time, every day
- Completes donation receipts, using a tablet, for each donor
- Denies donations based on item age and/or condition
- Works with staff and volunteers to help load and unload merchandise
- Assumes responsibility for keeping box trucks swept and clean
- Takes initiative at the ReStore to assist with daily sales operations, especially donation processing
- Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:
- This individual will work primarily on the box truck, but will contribute to the ReStore when not doing donation pick-ups
- This role involves a combination of indoor and outdoor work.
- This role involves frequent moderate to heavy lifting.
- This role involves frequent interaction with customers, donors, and volunteers.
Job Type:
- This is a full-time hourly position, which generally requires between 35-40 hours per week
- This position does pay overtime when required (40 hours)
- Benefits and paid time off are available for this full-time position, following a 90-day probationary period.
Schedule:
- ReStore staff are expected to be present Tuesday – Friday from 8:30 am to 5:15 pm, and Saturdays from 8:30 to 3:15 pm.
- This role may require occasional evening work, for Habitat special events.
