Major Responsibilities:
- Financial Department activities including record systems QuickBooks & LSS (Loan Servicing Software), Mortgage and Escrow control and analysis
- Record QuickBooks/LSS transactions and monthly reconciliations
- Record donation and other cash activities into QuickBooks
- Escrow/Mortgage analysis tracking and detailed monthly review
- Daily/monthly tracking of ReStore Sales and reporting
- Assist Controller as needed in special projects & Audits
Description of Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recording of financial activities, maintaining accurate, current records
- Record cash and credit card donations, record mortgage payments, store sales and stock sales in QuickBooks
- Assure proper recording of mortgage payments to LSS
- Balance detailed subsidiary ledger records with general ledger accounts monthly
- Assist in preparation monthly Mortgage/ReStore activities for financial review, including periodic G/L account analysis
- File sales tax return for ReStores and manage property taxes as needed
- Work closely with all of Finance to assure smooth audit, prepare requested schedules and facilitate all requested documentation
- Process homeowner property tax payments
- Recorded home insurance and tax payments
- Prepare escrow analysis, determine adequacy of accounts, and adjust accordingly
- Develop Delinquency Reports, issue past due and demand letters
- Work with Family Services in the collection of past due mortgage payments, establishing payment plans as necessary
- As needed, meet with mortgage holders to understand payments, escrow requirements (taxes, insurance etc.)
- Assist other departments as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide accounting services as detailed in management agreement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, or related software, as well as budget creation and analysis software
- Excellent managerial skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies
- Multilingual capability in Spanish and or Creole/French preferred
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, with a minimum of 5 years of experience; OR a relevant Masters degree with 2 years of experience
