What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Coordinator position at Habitat for Humanity of Collier County?
JOB SUMMARY
As part of the Family Support team, the Insurance Coordinator oversees all facets of hazard and flood insurance for homeowners with existing Habitat for Humanity of Collier County mortgages.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure homeowners’ insurance policies are promptly renewed or coverage is replaced before expiration day
- Process insurance documentation to A/P based on established timelines
- Manage insurance claims, process checks, and timely release funds
- Document and maintain Habitat Insurance Process and Policies to assure coverage is in place
- Add/Remove insurance forced placement policies
- Ensure insurance policies information including Declaration Pages are entered accurately and are up to date in database and Loan Servicing system
- Implement a sustainable homeowners’ insurance education program
- Provide bank and mortgage insurance policies expertise and incorporate best practices
- Responsible for avoiding cancellation of coverage whenever possible
- Issue Declaration Page(s) to the bank for homeowner mortgages that have been sold
- Update and enter insurance information in Loan Servicing Soft.
- Partner and develop relationships with Insurance Agencies
- Provide a high level of customer service
- Other support duties related to serving the organization, homeowners and applicants as assigned by department Director
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION
- Bilingual - English/Creole and/or English/Spanish required
- Ability to accurately translate documents, notices and conversations with homeowners
- Postsecondary education/degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience
- Some experience in Property & Casualty Insurance or related experience preferred
- Ability to pass a federal background screening, and drug test
ADDITIONAL
- Individuals in this role are expected to split their in-office workweek between Immokalee and Naples offices
