Reports To: New Construction Manager
Organization: Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County has fundamentally changed lives for more than 400 Partner Families right here in our community through new homeownership opportunities, home remodels and repair, and training. Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County, rooted in Christian principles, brings together community partners and volunteers from all faiths to help qualified Partner Families construct, renovate and purchase well-built, affordable homes and become successful homeowners.
Basic Functions: Directly oversee all construction sites, Construction Supervisors, Construction Staff, and Support the Role of New Construction Manager. Responsible for ensuring all projects are completed on time, on-budget, and to affiliate standards including, but not limited to:
Warehouse Management Support:
- Assist the Warehouse Manager in daily operations to ensure efficient and effective warehouse management.
- Develop and assist in the implementation of Home Maintenance courses for our homeownership program, YEP Program and community classes as requested. These courses aim to empower future or existing homeowners with the necessary skills to maintain their homes.
Land Acquisition:
- Actively participate in land acquisition efforts by attending auctions to bid for land.
- Coordinate closely with the Construction Manager to ensure all acquired land undergoes comprehensive environmental reviews to meet regulatory standards and support sustainable development.
Principal Duties:
· Perform Final walk throughs with perspective homeowners.
· Coordinate $ Schedule sub-contractors as needed.
· Track Progress of all jobsites and sub-contractor progress to report back to New Construction Manager
· Lead all supervisors, ensure they have what they need on site, work with Warehouse construction Manager to ensure items are ordered in a timely fashion.
· Review Permits submitted and ensure Inspections have passed
· Fill-in as needed for New Construction Manager if needed, approving invoices, monitoring attendance, conducting Production meetings, and providing updates on New Construction.
· Coordinate with Warehouse and Construction Associate for Inventory needs.
· Attend weekly volunteer planning meetings with New Construction Manager and Volunteer and Community engagement manager.
• Job requires a vast working knowledge of construction techniques with strong focus on carpentry and finish carpentry as well as strong leadership skills
• Accountable for the safety and security of assigned job sites, AmeriCorps members, partner families, and volunteers
• Provide adequate supervision and training of staff working with volunteers on the job site including an initial meeting at the beginning of the workday to discuss the plan for the day and work assignments to supervisors
• Ensure all work completed by volunteers and staff is performed to best standards
• Treat Partner Families and volunteers with respect, dignity and strive to make construction involvement meaningful
• Help establish and abide by timetable for construction
• Work together with other construction team members, as a team, to constantly improve construction processes
• Assist in the supervision of all site preparation and layout
• Provide progress reports to the New Construction Manager as appropriate, weekly, or as requested as well as to Director of Family Services as needed.
• Address/Correct all homeowner warranty issues, complaints, and repairs as directed by New Construction Manager
• Safely operate Habitat vehicles and equipment - must be eligible to be added to Habitat vehicle insurance- this requires at least 5 years of driving experience and a favorable driving record
• Properly maintain equipment and immediately deal with any malfunctions
Other Duties:
• Be prepared and ready to Communicate mission of Habitat as needed
• Assist with Habitat special events as requested, some nights and weekends may be required
• Comply with all policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned by New Construction Manager and/or Director of Family Services

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift 50 pounds - work will require climbing ladders, considerable standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching in awkward and tiring positions
• Ability to understand and communicate in English; other languages are a plus
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug test, sexual offender check, and random drug testing
Other Requirements: Adhere to schedule, show initiative, honest, drug free, positive attitude, customer service oriented, must have dependable transportation to work
