What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donation Pick-up Driver Assistant position at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville?
JOB SUMMARY:
The ReStore Donation Pick-up Driver Assistant is responsible for safely partnering with the Donation pick- up Ambassador (Driver) and collecting donations for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville ReStore. This includes loading and unloading donations from the Nashville area. This position is also responsible for truck maintenance, to include mechanical, safety, and cleanliness of assigned company vehicles. This position will work as a team player, aligning motives, values and beliefs with HFHGN values, recognizing that his/her actions directly impact the agency, and the overall donor experience combined with Great Customer Service. This is a hands-on, in-person position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Screen donations to determine usability for ReStore
- Proper packing and securing of donated items
- Unload and load donations at designated ReStore locations
- Provide efficient professional service to donors and share the Habitat ReStore mission
- Ensure that vehicles are properly maintained on a daily basis using daily inspection sheet
- Adhere to all safety regulations, both company and TDOT
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding Habitat and general merchandise questions
- Familiar with all ReStore merchandise pricing and donation guidelines
- Perform all other duties and tasks assigned
- Participate in the annual review process
- Ensure that all Habitat for Humanity International and Affiliate policies and guidelines are followed
- Other duties as directed by management
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- For Safety, efficiency, and to serve our customers, donors and volunteers, this job requires basic reading, writing, conversation and understanding English.
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written skills
- Ability to move merchandise up to 100lbs
- Ability to load and unload trucks
- Maintain office/donor relationships electronically through Vonigo, email and phone
- Demonstrate responsiveness and sensitivity to customer needs.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Equivalent education or experience in job related activities
- Very customer oriented
- Friendly and helpful demeanor

TIME REQUIREMENTS:
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week with occasional overtime offered.) Tuesday – Saturday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm . Satisfactory attendance is required
