Construction Site Supervisor
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The person in this position is responsible for the onsite management and supervision of new home construction by Habitat for Humanity. This includes organizing each build site, delivering material to sites, and working alongside and supervising volunteer groups. This is a working supervisor position. This person woks directly with partner families throughout the home construction process.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Work with Construction Manager to maintain construction schedule and budget.
2. Coordinate the delivery of materials, tools, and other supplies to and from work sites and the Habitat warehouse.
3. Work with partner families to resolve any punch list and/or warranty items that arise after construction.
5. Work alongside and supervise volunteers.
6. Represent the Affiliate in the community where and when appropriate.
7. Assist the Construction Manager as needed.
8. Continue builds and prep for the next scheduled workday when there are no volunteers.
9. Conduct the safety briefing at the beginning of each shift as well as ensure compliance with Habitat for Humanity and OSHSA safety guidelines.
10. Organize workday and jobs to be completed by volunteers on work site. This includes the training of volunteers on needed tasks.
11. Maintain a flow of tasks that will make good use of the volunteers’ time, engaging them as soon as possible after they arrive on site and keep them engaged throughout the day.
12. Support volunteers and donors who work onsite to ensure they feel safe, productive, and appreciated.
13. Treat partner families and volunteers with respect and dignity.
14. Coordinate and communicate with Volunteer Coordinator to secure necessary volunteers for workdays.
15. Utilize technology and online tools for daily project management and reporting.
16. Perform other duties as needed or requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Knowledge and 3-5 years of experience in residential construction.
2. Outstanding organizational skills.
3. Experience in supervision and working with diverse groups.
4. Ability to obtain Competent Person certification within 30 days of hire.
5. Physical ability to climb a ladder up to 25 feet; ability to lift up to 70 pounds, up to 10 times per workday.
6. Ability to be in and perform job functions in various weather conditions including heat and cold.
7. Have a valid driver’s license.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This person reports to the Construction Manager. This person works in a team atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation with all staff and volunteers.
THIS POSITION IS FULL-TIME/HOURLY/NON-EXEMPT. PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE. TUESDAY-SATURDAY WORK WEEK.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
