**Your Role as a Construction AmeriCorps Member:**
In this role, you'll serve full-time alongside diverse and supportive construction leaders and volunteers. As an AmeriCorps member, you'll develop valuable leadership and construction skills in a welcoming environment. Your journey will include:
- Learning the nuts and bolts of building a home from the ground up – from framing to laying foundations, and installing windows and doors.
-As well as gaining comprehensive knowledge in home repair such as installing siding, repairing roofs, laying flooring, and painting.
-Lead volunteers and Habitat partner families at construction sites to ensure they have a safe, productive volunteer experience and effective teamwork

**Desired Skills **
-Someone willing to learn the Habitat way of safety and way of construction.
-Be able to serve in adverse weather conditions alongside volunteers (i.e. extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, and snow)
-Valid driver's license and clean driving report to be able to drive Habitat Vehicles get to service sites without Habitat assistance
-Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and climb ladders and scaffolding when in construction positions.
**AmeriCorps Eligibility Criteria: **
-At minimum members must be high school graduates, GED receipts, working on attaining a high school diploma or GED during their term of service, or the program must be an approved Youth Corps program. Or prove they are unable to officially do so.
-Be 18 years or older at the start of service (no upper age limit)
-Pass a national service criminal history check prior to first day of service
-Hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US national, or Lawful Permanent Resident
