Job Description:
The Construction Helper is an integral part of our organization. This position will have daily contact with volunteers and Habitat homebuyers working on our construction sites. As such, the ideal candidate will be friendly, patient, and a positive ambassador of our affiliate.
Job Type: This is a full-time, 40/hour per week position with minimal overtime. The normal days and hours for this position are Tuesday - Saturday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.

Job Duties:
- Shadow and work alongside Site Supervisors to build new HFHSTW homes as per house plans, specifications and quality requirements
- Expand construction skills by accepting and applying guidance and training by Site Supervisors and Construction Director.
- Maintain a positive and engaging attitude to help promote a work site environment that contributes to a successful experience for volunteers and partner family members that encourages them to return and to serve as good ambassadors for HFHSTW
- As experience allows, assist with training all volunteers and family partner members on construction techniques and HFHSTW safety standards each day they are on the worksite
- Assist with home repair/rehab/warranty projects, as necessary, including scheduling and supervising subcontractors to ensure a quality work product
- Constantly evaluate work site safety to ensure safe work practices and re-train if necessary
- Use responsibly and maintain all tools, equipment and vehicles
- Additional duties as assigned
Required education:
- High school or equivalent
Preferred experience:
- Construction: 1 year

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
