The Facilities Manager is responsible for the design, planning, construction, safety and maintenance of building infrastructure and manufacturing/production equipment and systems. Responsibilities include predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance analysis as well as designing and implementing long-term continuous improvement applications and systems to enhance facility and/or production reliability and infrastructure specific elements of quality system compliance. You will manage a team with responsibility for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, facilities and ground maintenance.
This position is part of the Hach senior leadership team located in Ames, IA and will be on-site.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Daily supervision of staff to ensure internal and external customer demands are met.
- Ensure the building is ready for daily operation
- Manage contractors on site
- Construction management of all facility modifications and additions
- Ensure the team is following daily standard work and completing tasks in a timely fashion
- Lead and participate in daily management walks to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and 5S are being adhered to
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Engineering degree in one of the major disciplines
- Working knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, heating
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Working knowledge of local building codes and practices
- Computer skills including the use of AutoCAD and major office programs

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $105,000.00 - $130,000.00 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
