Acts as a manager of the Service Department. Responsible for repair and maintenance of vehicles. Provides customer satisfaction. Contributes to dealership profitability. Supervises all personnel and managers in the Service Department
Reports to General Manager and Dealer Principal.
Responsibilities and Authority:
Customer Satisfaction
- Maintains a customer relations program that ensures prompt repairs of high quality. Also provides a customer record and follow-up system, resolves customer complaints, and builds loyal clientele for the dealership.
- Sets clear standards for the treatment of customers.
- Uses quality control procedures designed to monitor quality of work and take corrective actions when standards are not met.
- Conducts regular new owner clinics.
Sales
- Responsible for profit of Service Department through sale of labor and parts. This is accomplished by advertising and merchandising programs, as well as having personnel capable and motivated to satisfy customer needs and desires.
Expense Control
- Manages departmental expenses so that profit is earned monthly.
Personnel
- Establishes and maintains practices designed to train, develop, and motivate department employees.
- Use a personnel management system that incorporates dealership policies on recruiting, hiring and orientation.
- Maintains technical resource bulletins and special tools in ways that are convenient to employees who need them.
Manpower Schedule
- Establishes and maintains system for scheduling manpower to meet objectives for Technician and stall efficiency.
- Also responds to customer inquiries on the status of repairs and sees that cars are returned promptly to customers.
Factory Relations
- Establishes and maintains relationships with factories that result in sound working arrangements.
- Uses warranty claim processing procedure that permits prompt settlement, simplified tracking/control and recognizes the interest of the dealership, customer, and factory.
Interdepartmental Relations
- Establishes and maintains good working relations with other departments to reduce conflict and maximize dealer profitability.
- Prepares for and participates in meetings with management and other department heads.
Housekeeping/Safety
- Initiates housekeeping and safety procedures that result in sales and attractive shop and reception/waiting areas.
Equipment
- Maintains dealership equipment in effective working conditions.
- Establish equipment maintenance schedules where necessary.
- Advises management on equipment needed for department.
Professionalism Integrity
- Attends ongoing training and professional development.
- Maintains active professional affiliations and certifications.
- Establishes an ethical environment throughout the Service Department
Hours:
The Service Department is open during the following hours:
Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

- 5 years’ Service Department experience (Ford dealership preferred)
- Team oriented.

- Proven management/leadership experience
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

- You will undergo a background check.
- You understand that the 401K company match has an annual maximum amount.
