THE POSITION
Under supervision of a Cafeteria Manager, or Cafeteria Supervisor in the Adult School, performs routine tasks in the serving and selling of food.
CURRENT OPENING: There are currently multiple part-time openings at various schools. Individuals in this job typically work between 3 hours and 3.75 hours per day, for 10 months a year. Salary placement will be on Range 5 of the CSEA Salary Schedule "B." Initial salary placement for new employees is customarily at step 2 ($17.15 per hour) of this salary range.

An eligibility list will be established to fill vacancies for full time, part time, evening, summer, and substitute positions throughout the duration of the eligibility list. Eligibility lists typically last for six months. Vacant positions are filled from the top three ranks. Pursuant to PC Rule 6.2.10, the eligibility list established for this recruitment may be used for another related classification at the same or lower salary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employees in this classification stand, walk, lift and carry up to 25 lbs. (most positions occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.), stoop/bend, repetitively use fingers and wrists and/or hands in a twisting motion or while applying pressure, simultaneously use both hands or both legs, have rapid mental/muscular coordination, speak clearly, hear well, have depth perception, see small details well.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees in this classification work inside exclusively, with their hands in water, in direct contact with students and staff. Protective equipment required: Gloves and hairnet.
Training and Experience: No education or experience required.

- Transports and positions food for serving.
- Washes pots, pans, trays, utensils, and other equipment.
- Assists in the cleaning of the kitchen equipment and serving areas.
- Replenishes condiments and supplies for the serving areas.
- Keeps records of food and beverages sold.
- May help to prepare food in larger kitchens.
- Maintains safe and sanitary serving areas, facilities, and equipment.
- Performs cashiering duties.
- Keeps records of items on hand.
- Distributes lunch tickets.
- Uses a variety of kitchen tools and appliances.
- Orders and stocks supplies.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
