How will you make an impact in this role?
- Function as member of an agile team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation)
- Participate in code reviews and automated testing
- Debug basic software components and identify code defects for remediation
- Enable the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments
- Demonstrate self-reliance, and ability to innovate and achieve team goals
- Demonstrate creative thinking and problem-solving skills, have ability to influence, drive improvements and challenge status quo
- Expertise in the definition and implementation of effective software engineering practices and processes that result in high speed to market: i.e., open-source style project maintainers, PR review process, issue triage, code reviews, code contribution metrics definition, test automation strategy, CI/CD optimization, etc.
- 3 years of development experience with Java (minimum Java 8), Python, or Go
- 6 years of software development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as:
- Experience with distributed systems, cloud native computing, micro-services, Kubernetes and REST/gRPC APIs
- Experience in developing applications that are scalable, highly available and resilient on AWS, GCP, or Openshift
- Experience with object-oriented design, algorithms and design patterns
- Hands-on expertise with application design, software development and automated testing
- Experience with working in a large enterprise with federated development model
- Familiar with Agile or other rapid application development methods
- Experience coding in additional languages is a plus
- Database experience with Apache Cassandra, and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required; advanced degree preferred
- Knowledge of Google cloud (GCP)
- Experience with Event Driven and Reactive Programming
- Experience with accessibility standards for web and tools like axe
