Job Description
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty : ICU Step, Neuro Surgical Stepdown
Job Duration : 9 months
Shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM, Every Other Weekend, Holidays required, No On Call
Guaranteed Hours : 40.00 hours
Experience : Minimum of 1 year prior RN experience working in a major acute care hospital setting required. Must have 1 year of Stepdown experience, including experience with vents, tracheostomy patients, Neuro, Trauma, and Surgical patients, and Telemetry.
License : NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
Certifications :Must-Have :
- Experience with infusions such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Cardene
- Ability to perform neurological assessments
- Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patients' needs
- Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Develop and coordinate individualized plan of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments
- Initiate assessment based on patient problems or needs, physicians' medical diagnoses, and functional health framework
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care
- Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities
- Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery
- Provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Float to units within competency if required (stepdown / intermediate or med surg telemetry)
- Must be willing and able to treat and manage patients with various conditions, including flu, COVID-19, heart issues, and lung issues
