Job Summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors provides respiratory care therapy and supportive equipment as stated in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
Essential Job Functions
- Providing respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies.
- Assisting with intubation and setting up and managing ventilators.
- Gathering patient information, including disease education, testing, and consultations with healthcare professionals.
- Developing a rapport with patients and caregivers to foster a supportive environment.
- Providing education to patients and caregivers based on identified needs.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Maintaining HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing for at least 1 hour daily.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
