About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at East Mountain Youth Lodge as a Night Shift Team Lead. As an LPN, you will play a leadership role in overseeing medical management, medication administration, and documentation. You will also have a collegial relationship with the shift leader in establishing a safe environment, providing personal supervision of residents, facilitating groups, and helping with day-to-day functioning of the milieu.
- Responsibilities:
- Transcribe medication orders, order all needed medications, work with the pharmacy to ensure proper medication and dosages are received, and follow up to ensure medications are dispensed properly.
- Review new medication orders and co-sign orders accurately.
- Provide care to resident populations as delegated and supervised by the RN and document responses.
- Establish effective therapeutic communication with patients, families, significant others by responding promptly with tact and sensitivity.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited LPN program.
- Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Minimum one year of adolescent psychiatric experience.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification or completed within the first 90 days of employment.
- First Aid Program or completed within the first 90 days of employment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
