Responsibilities
A day in the life of the Nurse Managers in the Critical Care Unit, Telemetry and Acute Rehab at Hackensack Meridian includes:
- Responsible for 24/7 management of the department to provide organization, leadership and coordination of the unit. This includes direction of patient care and nursing unit personnel.
- Maintains the standards of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of New Jersey.
- Supports and interprets the philosophy and objectives of the JFK University Medical Center and the Department of Nursing to staff, patients and families.
- Ensures an optimal level of care for all patients by coordinating, teaching and counseling appropriate staff to promote quality patient outcomes.
- Assists in the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- BSN required
- Attainment or pursuit toward Masters degree preferred
- 3-5 years progressive nursing leadership/management experience required
- National Nurse Executive Certification required within 1 year
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership and motivational skills. Critical thinking, program development and project management skills. Skilled in group facilitation and/or team building is a must
