The Supervisor of Mental Health is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating patient care activities.
Responsibilties
A day in the life of a Supervisor of Mental Health at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Assure that requirements for certification, licensure and accreditation are met and maintained.
- Available for individual case consultation on as needed basis.
- Reviews clinical assessments, treatment plans and the clinical record as a whole and provides feedback to team members.
- Works together with the program medical director to solve problems.
- Maintains 'open door' policy for staff in order to voice complaints, concerns or ideas.
- Regularly schedules and/or conducts team meetings, huddles.
- Consults with and advises program manager of problems related to clinical operation within the program, documentation and adherence to BHS standards.
- Coordinates and/or participates in community benefit activities such as health fairs and conferences.
- Is an active participant in outside professional organizations as required/needed.
- Functions as a clinician on a limited basis by completing intake assessments, carrying a caseload, providing individual counseling and facilitating groups weekly.
- Observes clinician's performance during patient treatment and provides feedback to team members.
- Supervises referrals for the program, setting intake appointments, troubleshooting issues with the call center.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- MSW, LCSW (will consider LSW with significant pre-Master's experience) - MA, LPC (will consider LAC with significant pre-Master's experience)
- Minimum of 2 years Post Masters experience
- Crisis and/or screening experience.
- Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
